About Rachael Sherlaw-Johnson

Rachael is a landscape artist based in the Cotswolds, where she has spent most of her life. She comes from a family of artists and musicians; her mother was the religious artist Eularia Clarke.

Rachael studied viola at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, then for several years attended painting and drawing classes in Oxford. In the 1980s she became a member of Oxford Printmakers Co-operative where she studied etching.

Her work has appeared in numerous exhibitions including the RA Summer Exhibition, The Seeing Eye at the Mall Galleries, the New Academy Gallery and Christ Church Gallery, Oxford.

During the 1990s she published a series of picture books about local places including Kelmscott, Woodstock and Burford.

Rachael married composer/pianist Robert Sherlaw Johnson, who died in 2000.
